Alinda Dekker
Alinda is a CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) and has been a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada since 2002.
She specializes in rural residential, small town residential and vacant land appraisals, and works together with Daniel on agricultural assignments. Alinda has been declared an expert witness before the Superior Court of Justice.
Alinda’s background is farming; she grew up on a combination dairy/pig farm in The Netherlands and has worked on dairy, pig, and chicken farms. Before becoming an appraiser, Alinda worked as a show jumping groom, a job that took her to the 1995 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Alinda is the current President of the Ontario Association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Alinda is fluent in both English and Dutch.
Daniel Doucet
Daniel is an AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) and has been a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada since 1983. He specializes in litigation and expropriation assignments, vacant land, agricultural, special purpose properties and First Nations Specific Land Claims valuation assignments. Daniel has been declared an expert witness before various courts and tribunals in the field of real estate valuation.
Daniel has spoken at several industry conferences on valuation topics such as the Subdivision Development Approach and First Nations Specific Land Claim valuation assignments. Daniel also co-authored a five phase study (2011 to 2021) titled, “Impact of High Voltage Transmission Lines on Rural Property Values in Ontario” and has presented the results of the study at eight conferences in Canada, the United States and in Paris, France.
Daniel is the Past President of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (2015-2016) and is currently a member of the AIC’s Work Product Review Committee and is one of three Counsellors of Professional Practice.
Daniel is fluent in both English and French.
Alinda and Daniel are involved with the appraisal assignment from start to finish: from booking the appointments, to completing the inspections and research associated with an appraisal assignment, writing the report, and taking care of any follow up questions.
